Defeat and 'a win', plus another fab Club Day on Sunday

Another scorching weekend with none of the wet stuff in sight (except beer) and a bit of cricket along the way.

Saturday saw the 1st XI travel to league leaders Marston St Lawrence (armed with TV and aerial) and possibly with a certain football match commanding more of their attention (the hosts being reluctant to accommodate the League's invitation of earlier start times and reduced formats), our boys went down by 7 wickets. They did get to see most of the football however

In contrast the 2nd XI's scheduled game at home to Thornborough did not get off the ground, with the visitor's crying off in the early hours of Saturday morning. Still, 20 points in the bag for skipper Badj and with another result surprisingly going their way, it means they leapfrogged the leaders Woodford Halse ahead of the two side's meeting at Woodford this weekend.

Onto Sunday and another super baking hot sunshine-laden day at The Green saw the return after a few year's absence of the club's Annual 6-a-Side. Congrats to Rich Foxon and his side [drawn out of the hat] and to everyone for an excellent day's cricket and all-round day. Report and stats to follow
