Established circa 1901, we are a family-friendly village club based on the Warwickshire/Northamptonshire border 6 miles from Rugby, offering cricket for all ages and standards.

With a rich history, we have a strong sense of club spirit and tradition and a picturesque ground with great facilities to play and watch cricket. We continue to enjoy great links and support from within the pretty, historic village of Willoughby and other surrounding village communities, and from partnering and association with local organisations.

On the field, from April to end of September we field:-

• two teams on Saturday afternoons in the South Northants Cricket League

• one team on Wednesday evenings in the Rugby and District Cricket League

• a Sunday village/club friendly XI (providing the opportunity for social cricketers to enjoy cricket in its purest form + offering youngsters the chance to sample the step up from youth cricket into the senior game)

• junior cricket teams at under 11, 13 and 15 age levels in the Rugby and District Cricket League (under 13s on Tuesday evenings, under 11s and 15s on Thursday evenings)

• a ladies Tip and Run team playing mostly on Monday evenings.

For young budding cricketers, essentially we offer cricket at junior into youth level for boys and girls from five years old upwards to 16 years. As we always say, 'come and have a go'!

We hold weekly coaching and game sessions on Sunday mornings, which are run and managed by our ECB-qualified coaches.

In 2017, we were one of the first clubs in the region to launch and offer All Stars Cricket. This fantastic ECB backed programme aims to provide thousands of five to eight year olds with the opportunity to play cricket, meet new friends and create '#bigmoments'. All Stars Cricket is a fun first-experience of cricket and it develops children’s skills, gets them active and provides the first steps on the National cricket pathway. Here at Willoughby, we are a dedicated 'All Stars Cricket' Centre and the only one within a 10 mile radius of Rugby.

We continue to offer Kwik Cricket for boys and girls looking to try out and learn to play cricket for the first time, with a series of skills activities and game sessions every week during season time, plus friendly matches with other clubs and inter-club tournaments.

In addition to league matches we arrange friendly matches with other local clubs to provide as much cricket experience as possible and bring young cricketers through into the hard ball game. All equipment is provided, but children are always most welcome to bring your own.

Off-the-field, as a club we also run a variety of social and fundraising events throughout the year, including social barbeques, Quiz Nights, day trips, plus an annual 6-a-side tournament, Awards and Presentation Evening, Bottle Bingo Evening and Club Tour.

We have also enjoyed staging several County and District representative matches on regular occasions, which is testament to the quality of the facilities and ground we have here at The Green, which in recent years has included the installation of an electronic scoreboard and mobile pitch covers.

If you would like to get involved with us at Willoughby Cricket Club - either as a player or social member, or even as a coach, coach helper/assistant or scorer, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would love to have you involved and always offer a warm welcome to anyone visiting the club.

Spectator are always welcome to grab a chair in the Long Room inside the Pavilion or feel free to find yourself a seat on one of the many benches dotted around the outfield, and join us to enjoy watching traditional village cricket in a great setting. It's village cricket as it should be!

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to The Green at Willoughby in the near future.
