Another Sunday and this time the visit of Crick Lions to The Green. Having lost the toss on a slightly damp wicket after an early morning downpour the duo of Ashley Rayner and Sean Thornton opened the batting. Runs were plundered aplenty as they both tucked into wayward bowling of the senior pros. Nick Crane commented 'do you think they are trying to bowl as high and slow as possible?' 94 off 20 overs and Sean's eye lit up at a long hop and the ball was caught at midwicket for 42. Ash retired soon after for a flawless 53* followed by Patrick McDonnell for a quickfire 12. Ryan Perry and Stuart Hall accumulated a 53 run partnership with the latter also enjoying time at the crease and retired for 53* in the 34th over. Dan Farrow played with good composure and saw the score from the 190's into the 220's before being caught in the penultimate over. Perry 28* and Fell 2* finishing off the innings of 225 for 3.

Elated by his watching fan club Nick Crane opened up with Jake Quinney - with Rocky nicking one behind off Quinney for 4. Farrow and Callum Hanks the the 'destroyer' coming on first change. With both bowling tight in dippers runs were hard to come by, Farrow bowling Bomber, Jones and Elliott. McDonnell also with a sharp run out to leave Crick on 45 for 5 off 20 overs. Fell and Thronton picked up a wicket apiece. Karl Quinney got a bit of tap from the 69 year old skipper Grant forcing the 2 opening bowlers to try and claim the last 3 wickets in the last 6 overs. Both Crane and Quinney J clean bowling the stubborn Grant and Rodney. Crick Lions finishing off on 119 for 9.
