Had better days.....

Another week past, and the same result for skipper Ben Hollis loosing yet another toss making it 12 straight losses. The inform Stony Stratford asked us to bat first on a over cast breezy day. Scott Cluley and Chait Kurusala opened the batting and got off to a nervy start loosing Scott in the third over for 2. Chait looked in good touch scoring a few boundary's before being caught and bowled by Winton. Hollis, Norman and Rayner all had early exits only managing to score 3 between them, which left us on 21-5 off 15 overs. Steve Bellew( 8-4) and Tom Winton (3-26) being the pick of the bowlers. Callum Hanks was the only one of the home sides batsmen to get stuck in and score runs making a quick 32 which gave Willoughby a very low score of 72 all out.

In reply the Willoughby express train Dan Farrow and Mark Rory Fell took the new ball and did not disappoint. Farrow taking a wicket in the first over, and continuously firing the ball down causing skipper Ben Hollis to take a sharp catch at third slip (2-32 off 8). Mark Fell (4-22) started just where he left off from lasts weeks game bowling his boomerangs consistently, causing all sorts of problems for the visitors which saw them 56-6.
Ben Hollis made a change with the bowling which saw Callum Hanks replacing Farrow from the pavilion end, Hanks was very unlucky only to pick up 1 wicket, bowling a super line and length causing 2 boundary's off the edge through the slips (8-1 off 4 ). Hollis
(2-13 off 3.3 )replaced Fell from the bottom end and was rewarded in his 1st over with a wicket with a fine catch from Fell in the covers. Game on Willoughby needed 2 wickets to win and Stony needed 4 runs off 22 overs, Hollis in his third over takes a wicket clean bowling there number 10 Tom Winton for 1, in comes there number 11 and plays 2 lovely shots off middle peg and picks up the winning runs 73-9 off 23. Stony Stratford win by 1 wicket.

Not the day we had hoped for, and defiantly a day to forget with the bat. Fantastic effort by everyone in the field didn't let nothing slip and couldn't of asked for anything else by the bowlers. Tough one to take but we go again and bounce back for sure !!
