" My minds gone blank, how do you do a four "

Skipper Ben Hollis looses the toss and is asked to bat first on a soft green wicket.

Ian Andrews and Hassan Nawaz opened the batting same as last week and got off to a good start, seeing the ball well and scoring runs nicely.
Nawaz scoring (25) before being bowled including three sixes. Ashley Rayner joins Andrews in middle also looking in great form, picking off the bad balls and finding the gaps in the field. Rayner had to retire injured pulling his ham string. Ian scoring (12) before gloving the ball in the air and being caught out. Tom Stevenson and Richard Foxon were the next two batsmen in, they both started strong and steadied the ship for us. Tom and Rich were looking to score off every ball and keep the runs ticking. Tom was the first one to go by edging behind to the keeper making (22). Ben Hollis was next in and knew he had a job to do. Score board slowed up as the bowlers seemed to start getting more and more swing as the innings went on. Foxon received a full toss outside leg stump and somehow played on and looses his wicket. Hollis scoring slowly and keeping his wicket, Dave (5)Martin(3),Jake(8),Sean (6) all coming and going. James Andrews was the last wicket and tried to get Hollis on strike, but he was caught without troubling the score. Hollis finishing on 35 not out. Willougbhy 176 all out.

Due to Ashley Rayner being injured the bowling was always going to be tough. Jake Quinney and Ben Hollis opening the attack. Jake bowling a good line a length was causing them a few problems but was unlucky not to pick up a wicket in his opening spell ( 0-25 off 5 ). Hollis was struggling getting his line but was finally rewarded bowling the opening batsmen. ( 1-35 off 6). Dave Alcock and Richard Foxon replaced Ben and Jake. Both bowling in good areas slowing the run rate right down. Taking wickets slowly at both ends wasn't enough as they were edging closer to our score. James Andrews with a great bit of work behind the stumps with a stumping for Dave. They got the runs with 6 overs to spare. Both bowlers bowling straight through, Dave (2-50 off 12) Richard ( 3-57 off 12).
