Sunday

Club Friendly

RPC Southam/Cemex v Willoughby

Willoughby 164 all out
RPC Southam/Cemex 66 for 1

Rain stopped play - Match abandoned as a draw

An interesting run chase was halted by the weather at Model Village, Long Itchington to thwart the conclusion of Cemex and Willoughby’s friendly encounter.

Earlier in the warm sunshine, the visitors managed to reach 164 all out after a very pedestrian first 20 overs which saw Willoughby yield only 37 runs thanks to in part some economical bowling from the hosts and some lethargic efforts to put runs on the board by the visitors.
The drinks break changed all that as a quick wickets straight after saw Craig Scott and Jason Scott thankfully up the run rate, making 59 and 26 respectively, before late runs from A J Mohammed (29) gave them something to bowl at.

In reply – after it is has to be said another excellent tea from the hosts, Cemex started their reply well reaching 66 for 1 approaching the halfway mark. Then with matters well placed for an entertaining conclusion to the game, the rain arrived to take the players off and eventually forced the game to a early finish and a draw.
