Willoughby (215 for 5 – 20 pts)
Grange Park (37 all out – 2 pts)

Willoughby won by 178 runs

A half century followed by a six wicket haul for Tom Hill was the catalyst for Willoughby to earn a second successive SNCL victory on Saturday against visitors, Northampton Grange Park.

Batting first, the hosts showed no signs of their recent problems with bat as they posted a useful target of 215 for 5. Hill top scored with 51 with David Alcock (48), Martin Nichols (42) and, Lee Johnson (27) also contributing well

In reply, Hill together with James Barnwell went through the Grange Park batting in devastating fashion. The visitors were bowled out for a total of 37; Hill backing up his earlier knock by taking 6 for 20 with Barnwell recording 4 for 17.

After been on the end and subject of a similar low batting total themselves a few weeks ago, Willoughby’s success by 178 runs was not only welcome relief and a show of character, but another good booster ahead of Saturday’s visit of leaguer leaders, Afro Caribean
