Willoughby Cricket Club reflected on the 2009 season with their Annual Awards Night and Presentation Dinner recently (9th October '09)
It was a year of stability for the senior ranks. In South Northants League competition, a useful fourth place finish for the Saturday 1st XI was backed by promotion from Division 4 for the 'A' side, giving foundations for possible further progrssion next term. Likewise for the 1st XI and 2nd XI's on a Wednesday in the Rugby and District Cricket League who saw third place in Division 2 and mid-table in Division 3 respectively.
Youth Cricket continues to flourish at Willoughby. Another series of players continued their way into playing within the senior ranks at all levels, whilst some of the more younger players again showed great promise in their continued development. A series of new initiatives and developments are planned for Youth Cricket at Willoughby in 2010, which the club's current young members and prospective new players can expect to and will enjoy.
