D & B downed in the 'derby'

South Northants Cricket League

Willoughby v Dunchurch & Bilton

Willoughby (119 for 8 – 20 pts) beat Dunchurch & Bilton (99 all out – 4 pts) by 20 runs

The weekend's local derby meeting at Pye Court went the way of Willoughby as they edged out D & B.

In a match reduced to 30 overs due to a wet wicket at The Green, the hosts were inserted and set a target of 119 for 8. Graham Hallam (29), Jonny Cumiskey (25), Trevor Goodwin (17), and skipper Stuart Hall (16) all chipping in, with Stuart Keel 4 for 31 for D & B.

In reply, Alan Evans made 44 for the visitors, but they struggled to build any momentum particularly in the face of Lee Johnson taking 5 for 36. D & B falling short of the victory total being bowled out for 99, which just about mathematically ensures mid-table security for both sides.
