Willoughby's visit to the country estate surrounds of Litchborough saw a record-breaking opening partnership and three centuries take centre stage headlines in defeat for the visitors.

Batting first, the opening partnership of Robin Corrigan and Ashley Rayner dominated the visitors batting as the scorecard suggests. Both retired unbeaten having made three figure innings, Corrigan making 103 whilst Rayner made 121, before two of Willoughby's emerging youngsters, Ben Hollis and Robert Mackenzie, came into to see out the final couple of overs and add their first senior runs.

Despite putting 241 on the board, the home side were equal to the task. Burns made 44 but fellow top order batsmen Stretton made an unbeaten century, retiring having made 108. The home side then chased down the final runs, successfully reaching their victory target with two overs to spare. Nikesh Mistry was Willoughby most economical bowler, recording figures of 2 for 29.
