Woodford Halse (49 for 2 – 20 pts) beat Willoughby (48 all out – 1 pt) by 8 wickets

Willoughby's unbeaten start to the SNCL season was brought crashing down to earth with an early and crushing defeat at Woodford Halse.

The visitors did not heed the warning of their 2nd XI counterparts from the previous week as an unpredictable Woodford wicket again played tricks to devastating effect. Batting first, the Willoughby innings was short-lived as they never got to grips with the Woodford track, for they were bowled out for a 48 runs. Lee Johnson with 22 and Simon Bluden the only contributors showing some resistance as Lloyd Parkinson and Steve May made merry taking 5 for 22 and 4 for 25 respectively.

In reply, Willoughby did grab two initial wickets, but Chris Prophet (Jnr) and Sam Harper remained unbeaten on 23 and 17 to see Woodford home by 8 wickets
