It was a much closer affair at The Green on Sunday as Willoughby edged victory over Wolston on the very last ball of the day

The visitors batted first and set a good target, making 214 for 5; Chris Prophet Jnr with 84 and R Stevens making 75 leading their charge.

Not to be outdone however, Willoughby had Pete Sarson with 53 setting the early reply, before skipper Ashley Rayner took control of matters. He made an unbeaten 85 and with support from Robin Corrigan (35) saw Willoughby to a five wicket success, with the winning runs coming off the final ball of the innings

Overall, a good and [particularly on Sunday] exciting start to the Willoughby season.
A quick mention for Willoughby's youngsters of Chris Watson, Josh Slade, David Jakeman and Robert Mackenzie who made their senior debuts at the weekend - hopefully the first of many for them and for the other youth players this year.
