Willoughby will once again be also running their popular Kwik Cricket sessions this summer, and invite local budding young cricketers of the future to come along and get involved.
Our Kwik Cricket at Willoughby programme has been running now for nearly 20 years and year in year out proves to be as popular as ever.
Kwik Cricket is essentially the entry level stage for boys and girls interested in starting to play and learn about cricket, with the emphasis very much on fun, participation and enjoyment; as all sport - particularly children’s sport - should be.
Kwik Cricket is specifically tailored for children up to the age of 11 for the development of basic cricket skills of bowling, batting and fielding skills, all in a fun way using blue plastic bats and stumps and soft orange balls.
Over the years we have seen many of our junior cricketers start off with Kwik Cricket before moving into the hard ball game and then through the junior/youth age group levels into senior cricket; a great case in point being our Under 15s from last year who finished their junior/youth cricket days in 2018 and are now regulars in the senior/adult teams with most of the team having started together when they were 7 or 8 with Kwik Cricket.
Kwik Cricket at Willoughby for 2019 gets underway on Sunday 19th May, with sessions running on the following dates through to July
• Sunday 19th May
• Sunday 2nd June
• Sunday 9th June
• Sunday 16th June
• Sunday 23rd June
• Sunday 30th June
