From the weekend..

By Karl Quinney

Two league defeats - one contentious - but a win on Sunday.

You could say it was an interesting weekend for the club with two league defeats on Saturday in the South Northants Cricket League (one of which left something of an unpleasant feel about it), but a good victory on Sunday.

Saturday, the 1st XI were well-beaten by a strong Syresham side who showed why on their day they are one of the strongest side in the Premier Division.

Up the road at Dunchurch, the 2nds arrived to find that the host side's had negated on their engagement in Milton Keynes and instead fielded half their 1st team for a Division 4 game. The outcome - a defeat for our boys, but one which although reduces their lead (albeit perhaps temporarily) - still sees them hang onto top spot in Division 4.

Onto yesterday/Sunday, a fine century from Ashley Rayner with other supporting knocks was the deciding factor in a seven wicket success at Napton; despite the home side also seeing one of their bats also make it into three figures.
