The best way to keep up to date with Willoughby Cricket Club

From the weekend...

2 months ago By Karl Quinney

Only two games due to the bank holiday weekend.

There was only Saturday's South Northants Cricket League games as the focus at the weekend and sadly both ended in defeat.

The 1st XI hosted another of the likely title chasers Charlton at The Green, and put up a spirited fight albeit in losing by 41 runs.

It does however mean the 1sts have now played the current top three in quick succession in the early weeks of the season, with a measurable improvement game by game

There was also defeat for our 2nd XI in our first visit back to neighbours and friends Flecknoe for several years.

Missing skipper Badj and three others from the previous week, it was again our youngsters who shined with bat and ball in the face of a fairly decent Flecknoe side winning comfortably by 8 wickets.
