Blend of old and new for Sunday XI friendly cricket this season

The fixture schedule for Willoughby's Sunday friendly cricket has drawn up another intriguing mix of opponents old and new for the summer ahead.

The first of those new opponents come in the shape of Leicestershire-village side Dunton Bassett who we open the Sunday fixture schedule when they visit The Green on Sunday 15th April. They come on the recommendation of our friends at Lutterworth CC, who we again play this summer with [now] two fixtures (away on Sunday 3rd June, home on Sunday 5th August).

Another of our new / old acquaintances visits us in May when Coventry-based Massey Ferguson arrive at The Green on Sunday 20th May.

That is ahead of what looks to be the intriguing prospect of an entertaining Sunday on 10th June when a Willoughby Exiles XI of former players (from around the early to mid 90s) will arrive back in Willoughby for a reunion with the club and a social friendly game.

The 2018 schedule also pits us against old friends and regular Sunday opponents which include Crick Lions, Bourton & Frankton, Napton (for our first visit to their 'new' ground), Marton, and the newly merged Oakfield & Rowlands.

And don't forget the Willoughby 6-a-side which is scheduled for Sunday 1st July.
